This is an "outside-loaner-folk-rock-psychedelic-singer-songwriter track" from the early 1970's. It was meant to be the the title track for one of Chet's first albums, "Time Loop". But due to some shuffling of songs that was insisted upon by the record company as to what songs they wanted to be the final tracks, "Horses and Eagles", was pulled in favor of the more, "singles style", song, ("Spinning On The) Time Loop". So, this song was meant to be added to the second album, "Waving Prairie". "Horses and Eagles" is a fun song with a serious, whimsical story line with some serious, almost "free verse", exaggerated lyrics of a ..."love-affair", with an not-to-be satisfied, 1960's anarchist girl friend ... gone bad. What fun, eh?
