This song was originally recorded in a longer form for Chet's second album, "Waving Prairie".

Then Chet re-recored in and this is that track.

The original track's "Earth River'" info is:
Executive Producer & Recordist: Stephen Barncard
Producers: Stephen Barncard & Chet Nichols
Recorded At: Wally Heider’s Studio, San Francisco
Vocals, piano & guitar by Chet Nichols
Arrangements: Chet Nichols
Lyric & Music by Chet Nichols
The songs was Inspired by a family story of Chet’s Great-Grandfather skating on the frozen Rhine River as a young man delivering milk before he migrated to America. Supposedly, the girls would stand on the bridges waiting for him to skate by so they could wave at him.

I’ll be the river and hold you when the ice is thin
I’ll be the river, come and drink me in
Me down here and you upon the bridge
Filling me up with your tears
Yeah, filling me up with tears
Let go and fall in my arms and we will drift to the sea
Where the winds will lift you up and set your troubles free

Sometimes we’re blind
Even when we try to see
Sometimes we’re blind
Oh, sometimes when we’re wandering
And overwhelmed by the unknown
And you think that you’re invisible
When you’re lost and all alone
You need the river heading home
When you’re lost and all alone
You need the river heading home
So, I’ll be the river hold you when the ice is thin
I’ll be the river, come and drink me in

So, let go and fall in my arms and we will drift to the sea
