"Talking & Gibbering" a book of poetry
|
|
Back in the mid 1960’s, Chet Nichols authored a book of poetry entitled, “Talking & Gibbering”. It was prose, loose poetry, but mostly, fun and thoughtful insights about the world around us. They were like little mini-movies. This book was supposed to have been published in conjunction with the release of Chet’s first record album, “Time Loop”.
But, a problem occurred when the press/publisher lost the only copy of the pages of “Talking & Gibbering”. At the time, Chet was moving from place to place and touring extensively and, unfortunately, the original manuscript was misplaced. So, like many projects, it fell through the cracks and stayed that way for many years.
Recently, 40-something years later, the original manuscript was found nestled in- between two old copies of The Whole Earth Catalogue. It was in an old equipment touring case along with some old recording tapes of Chet’s live shows. Chet, wrote “Talking & Gibbering”“Talking & Gibbering” on a typewriter and then glued the pages into a hard-shelled, blank, writing journal, so the book was well preserved.
Well, we are happy to announce that the original manuscript of “Talking & Gibbering” has been transposed and is now available as a PDF Word File.
“Talking & Gibbering” is a highly creative work that is fun to read and is filled with places, people, characters, situations, feelings and thoughts that are raw and subliminal.
If you or someone you know, enjoy unique poetry, you’ll want to get a copy of “Talking & Gibbering”.

“talking and gibbering”
ther’s grease in the pan and it sizzles like swallows roosting in trees all talking and gibbering of the places they have been and where they are headed “Happy to be a swallow”, says one “We are swallows and we know it”, says two “If you aren’t a swallow then what am I”?

“Our Common Bond”
our common bond the universal living wire is the music that dances in the light of fire
the silver string stretches as we try to support the holes in the wall the string stretches unbending as we become a wall of holes feeling the cracks knowing the feelings and knowing the holes must be filled with love or they will crumble our common bond the perpetual machine in motion is the music of a river flowing deep inside ourselves as we rush to fill the holes so that what was once a wall of holes is now a whole wall
